Flamenco Christmas in Jerez

The Teatro Gran Vía is hosting a show on 13 December in which the audience can experience the authentic essence of a flamenco Christmas in Jerez. This concert brings together several artists on stage with Diego Carrasco and Enrique el Zambo as a guest artists.

Jerez reflects all its artistic virtues in each of its festivals, but these virtues are perhaps most evident at Christmas. Jerez and Christmas are a perfect combination where tradition, art and rhythm converge, celebrating the birth of Jesus, with a common denominator: the Zambomba.

The Zambomba became popular in the 1980s, thanks to gypsy artists from Jerez: Manuel Fernández Molina, Parrilla de Jerez and Antonio Gallardo Molina, who elevated the musical and lyrical category of the Zambomba. At the end of the 1990s and early 2000s, the gypsy artist from Jerez, Fernando Fernández Patoja (Terremoto hijo) consolidated the rise of the Jerez Christmas festival with his compositions.
