As part of the programme of activities of Madrid’s 2 May Festivities, Madrid will host a historical re-enactment of events of 2 May, commemorating the uprising of the people of Madrid against the French invasion of Spain in 1808. The programme take place on 1 and 2 May in various venues, such as Puente del Rey, Puerta del Sol and the municipality of Torrejón de Ardoz and Vicálvaro.
Organised by the Asociación Histórico Cultural Voluntarios de Madrid 1808-1814, the programme kicks off on 1 May at 12pm in Torrejón de Ardoz, where the historical re-enactment will take place in the Plaza Mayor.
