The Sala Sinfónica (Symphonic Hall) at the National Music Auditorium is hosting a recital on 11 March 2026, featuring Juan Diego Flórez, one of the most outstanding voices on today’s opera scene. For the occasion, he will be accompanied on stage by the pianist Vincenzo Scalera to perform a selection of pieces by composers such as Mozart, Rossini, Liszt and Verdi, among others.
Son of the Peruvian creole singer and guitarist, Rubén Flórez Pinedo, better known by the artistic name of Juan Diego Flórez (Lima, Peru, 1973) began his professional career performing cover versions of groups like The Beatles or Led Zeppelin. After beginning with the opera, Flórez specialised in compositions by Italian composers. Thanks to his exceptional voice, he has been classified as one of the best lightweight tenors of all times and has performed at the world’s leading theatres, having won many awards.
Throughout his extensive career, he has released a total of 11 opera albums and several oratories which, along with his voice, has earned him the admiration of Plácido Domingo himself for the repertoire that he is capable of performing. Among this spectrum of classical music, works like The Barber of Seville, The Italian girl in Algiers or Lucia di Lammermoor stand out.
In this concert, he is accompanied by the pianist Vincenzo Scalera to perform a selection of pieces by composers such as Mozart, Rossini, Liszt and Verdi, among others.
