Sala Alcalá 31 in the Community of Madrid will present L’anima non finita, an evolutionary journey through Lidó Rico’s work from 8 to 31 May. This exhibition will bring together more than 50 pieces ranging from his early career in the 1980s to more recent, large-scale creations. The exhibition presents an in-depth look at this contemporary artist’s career, exploring the essence of humanity through his various creative phases.
Curated by Míriam Huescar, the exhibition is set out like a map of the artist’s universe, highlighting installations such as Secadero de Pensamientos and the sculptural mural, Skin and Memory. While the ground floor presents themed itineraries on identity and history, the upper floor invites visitors to an intimate experience focused on self-representation and emotions. The exhibition reflects the use of the body as a tool for knowledge, using plaster immersion techniques to join the physical with the existential.
The initiative includes a mediation and accessibility program sponsored by the Lidó Rico Foundation, which intends to eliminate sensory and cognitive barriers. This project seeks to ensure that people with visual impairments, cognitive difficulties and children can enjoy culture on equal terms. A direct relationship with the material is fostered through adapted resources in works such as Murcia, Skin and Memory, enabling the artistic experience to be shared and understood by all.
L’anima non finita marks a turning point in Lidó Rico’s career, consolidating his visual language and his reflection of the body as a space for conflict. This initiative includes the collaboration of experts in art and universal accessibility from the Lidó Rico Foundation, such as Blanca Spreafico López, Juan de Dios Moreno Moñino and the Tibi Orbis Museum.
