The Grammy and Latin Grammy Award winning Venezuelan funk rock and reggae band will be performing on 15 May 2026 at the Movistar Arena as part of their new ¿Dónde es el after? World Tour.
Rawayana is a band formed in Caracas (Venezuela) in 2007 by singer and guitarist Alberto “Beto” Montenegro, bassist Antonio “Tony” Casas, keyboardist Andrés Story and drummer Alejandro Abeijón. Their name comes from the ancient Indian epic poem Ramayana, and taking this work as a reference, the group has created their own world, the Island of Rawayana, where imagination knows no bounds.
Their approach is characterised by a fusion of music styles, including reggae, rock, ska, psychedelic pop and funk. Their songs offer thoughtful and positive lyrics, as well as a fresh, vibrant style, exploring issues ranging from social satire to the joy of living.
They became popular in Venezuela in 2010, after participating in the New Bands Festival. Their first album was titled Licencia para ser libre, released in 2011, and included singles such as Falta poco, Algo distinto and Gatos oliva, earning the band a total of four Pepsi Awards in Venezuela. In 2013, they released Rawayanaland, then came Trippy Caribbean in 2016, followed by Cuando los acéfalos predominan in 2021, in collaboration with other artists such as Los Amigos Invisibles, Fer Casillas and Akapellah. As well as their success on the music scene, Rawayana have also been recognised for their social activism on issues such as environmental conservation.
Now, Rawayana are presenting their acclaimed new studio album, ¿Dónde es el after? (2026), on an ambitious new tour that will kick off in April, taking the band around Latin America and Spain. The album includes the tracks La Noche Que No Había Uber, the single with which the band made their debut at Gallery Sessions, and 'Reyimiller', which also marked the band’s appearance on COLORS, one of the most recognised music platforms worldwide.
This new album features collaborations with great artists Elena Rose, Servando and Florentino Primera, Mazzarri, Joaquina, Manuel Turizo, Carín León, DannyLux, Grupo Frontera, Magic Juan, J Quiles, and Jowell & Randy.
