The 1980s pop icon will be performing on 17 July in the Botanical Garden at the Complutense University (Alfonso XIII Royal Botanical Garden) as part of the latest edition of the Nights at the Botanical Festival. In this concert, Rick Astley will run through the songs that have marked his career, such as Never Gonna Give You Up, Together Forever, Take Me To Your Heart or Hold Me In Your Arms.
With a musical career spanning more than 30 years under his belt, Rick Astley had his greatest hit at the end of the 1980s with Never Gonna Give You Up, which catapulted him to international fame and a reference in pop music. He also had a big hit with other songs of a similar style, such as Whenever You Need Somebody or Together Forever.
Several years later, the famous singer returned to the stage with force with a new album preceded by his previous album, which went to the top of British charts. The album, Beautiful Life (2018) included several hits, such as the catchy Try and the nostalgic The Good Old Days, with which the singer showed the public that he was still on full form, maintaining his danceable musical style that has always characterised him.
In 2023, he released his latest album to date, Are We There Yet?, his ninth studio album and the third consecutive one that Astley has written, recorded, performed and produced at his London studio. With the single, Dippin My Feet, the singer has given a twist to his characteristic style.
