The young, award-winning Russian pianist will be participating in the latest edition of the Great Performers concert series, organised by the Scherzo Foundation on 7 April in the Sala Sinfónica at the National Music Auditorium. On this occasion, she will perform a selection of pieces by composers like Franck, Rachmáninoff, Liszt and Sofia Gubaidulina.
Despite her youth, the Russian-Armenian pianist and composer, Eva Gevorgyan, has a prolific career that has accumulated concerts and awards from more than forty musical competitions in various countries, such as the United States, Germany, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Estonia, Malta, Kazakhstan, Poland, Czech Republic, Georgia, Russia and Serbia.
Born in 2004, Gevorgyan has experienced music since a young age, as her mother was a professional violinist. She advocates bringing music to young people with clear and precise language. She has performed as a soloist with renowned orchestras across Europe, Asia and America, and has worked with conductors like Valery Gergiev, Vladimir Spivakov, Vasily Petrenko and Stéphane Denève. She has regularly appeared on iconic stages, such as the Royal Albert Hall, Laeiszhalle in Hamburg and the Gewandhaus in Leipzig, as well as at prestigious festivals, such as Verbier, Ruhr Klavier and Mariinsky.
She is currently studying under Stanislav Ioudenitch at the Reina Sofía School of Music in Madrid and Natalia Trull at the Moscow State Conservatory. Her first studio album, which included pieces by Chopin and Scriabin, was released under the Melodiya label in 2022.
